LED Camping Lantern, Micro-USB cable & Instructions

About

This rechargeable led camping lantern is a torch when collapsed.  It expands from this small factor into a lantern giving off a nice 130 lumens light.  This is more than enough to see your way around a local area.  Powered by built-in rechargeable batteries and solar panel with a built-in power bank.

Use

Plug this into a USB charger through the micro-USB port and the 800ma lithium battery will charge fully from empty in 4 hours.  The solar panel will also help charge when no power source is available.

By pulling the device apart it expands into a lantern from 48 mm to 121 mm.

The 3 modes give you low light, high light & flashing.  You will get 10 hours on the low light setting & 5 hours on the high light setting.

The built-in power bank is a nice feature that I’m sure will come in handy when you’re other devices need a boost.

Features

  • Expands and collapses
  • Rechargeable
  • Solar Panel
  • Built-in Powerbank

Dimensions: 98 x 96 x 55 mm

Conclusion

The LED gives off a nice bright light that should be sufficient for most tasks.  Compact for storing away as a torch and a nice feature to have an 800ma power bank for charging your other devices.  A really nice little gadget for camping, fishing or even power cuts.

  1. Firstly I love the name of your website – it’s really catchy! It’s amazing how far technology has come in the past 50 years or so, and the convenience of many travel gadgets now. I love camping and it used to be a case that you would need your torch and the batteries were running low, but this dual-purpose gadget looks fantastic. The ability to charge it through a USB port is great, especially since you can do this in most modern vehicles. I have a converter that plugs into the cigarette lighter in my car, which has a USB port on it, so that’s perfect for charging these types of gadgets. I love that this can be used a lamp and a torch, so definitely perfect for my camping trips!

  2. I love camping and I can definitely see how this light would become very useful. It would sure save you on purchasing batteries and is more environmentally friendly. I would love to have something like this the next time I go camping. I have used similar items that work on solar panels, such as phone chargers, they do come handy if you want to stay off the grid. The battery life also seems to be very good on this led light. 5 hours on the high light setting seems pretty good.

Thank you for a great review on the Rechargeable LED Light, this will surely come handy for my next camping trip.

  3. This looks like a great gadget to own. I could see many uses for it. I like that is is rechargeable and utilizes solar power. So it is versatile is how it is powered and in its uses. So, it would make a very good addition to an emergency kit, camping kit, and many other possibilities.

  4. Hi Adam

Nice concise review, I personally keep one of these in my car, the fact that it collapses down makes it really easy to keep in my glovebox. The fact it can be both a torch and a lantern makes it quite versatile depending on the situation I find myself in.

In my opinion, this is an ideal accessory to have in the car when the unexpected happens.

    • Hi Dominic,

your comment about this also being in car gadget is very true.

I will add this to my car category too

      Many thanks

      Adam

  5. Hey, Adam! Such a remarkably useful piece of traveling gear. Love the fact that it takes up really little space, thus, can easily be fitted essentially in a bag wherever you go. Also, the lightweight I do find handy. And the fact that you can even charge your phone for a bit from it for an emergency. And the solar battery adds to the overall coolness and usefulness for a totally unpredicted turn of events or circumstances.

All in all, I do see it as potentially being a life-saver.

Thank you for all the info you provided, I will have to get one.

Cheers, and have a Great One!

  6. I used to have a similar one to this. It was though without a solar panel or a built-in power bank. Essentially, you could expand it and collapse it in a similar way but it ran on a rechargeable battery and after that it had to be plugged in an outlet to recharge. I also don’t remember it being under 200 grams of weight. Must have been more.

As far as I can tell, by all means, a more inferior version to this one. Thus, I can’t really not share my appreciation for this piece of tech. 🙂

For our future campings, I will need to get a pair of these. My father’s birthday is coming up, and I bet he’ll also love this kind of addition to his camping gear.

    Thank you for sharing this.

    Have a Wonderful Day!

    • Hi Rasa,

Yes there are plenty of similar products out there, although this one does seem to do exactly as expected.

      Thanks

  7. Hi Adam, nice article piece. I was just wondering what you think about the Suaoki Collapsible Clover Style 18 led camping tent lantern, it’s solar powered so technically speaking it’s kind of rechargeable and at the end it uses nature’s power. Thanks in advance!

    • Hi Anthony,
I did look at this one as a possible one to review but wanted one that was rechargeable.
      Great list you have there!
      Thanks for the feedback
      Adam
